Journal Entry: Observation Student Reflection/ Commentary
Attached is my Student Reflection for the Supervised session from last week. I made commentary (colored in red) on the observation page as well. I hope that is alright. It was helpful to add in my thoughts directly next to yours so I could correlate my comments.
As an added note, I was wondering if it would be possible to schedule the next two supervised sessions before Rachel comes back. She will be returning November 27th. At this point I will have full access to any of my students up until then. I do not know for sure how things will change upon her return. Let me know what you think...
Thanks.

I read over your reflection - you are doing great, Misty. There is so much to learn. Sometimes it is nice to just have someone come and give perspective. It just helps put things in place and give students a place to anchor themselves. It takes so long to really know a student....a lot of experimenting to start with.
ReplyDeleteWould Oct. 29th work for an observation date? Which students would you like me to observe? I can observe progress on the same students or we could move to another student about whom you have questions. Let me know!
Thanks, Misty.
Amy
I appreciate your help in providing perspective. Honestly, there are times I feel lost because there is no guidance with any of these students and experimenting is all I've been doing.
ReplyDeleteOctober 29th should work. My schedule is pretty tight on Mondays, so I may not have a lot of time to debrief, but I will see if I can adjust that for the day. I am at 4 (possibly 5) schools that day. I think I would like you to come to the same school for two reasons. First, I want to see if you feel I have made any progress with a student you have already seen. Second, I would like to see how you would approach the other one; and have you take a look at another. The time would be 10:30-11:30. I push in to a 3K room for a student with multiple challenges at 10:30. There is also another student in that room I work with that you might be able to take a glance at while you are there. There are a lot of adults in that room already, so I need to clear it with that teacher specifically first, but it is only for 15 minutes. Then I go back to a pull out time with G.G (the second student you already met). I will also double check that it is a normal day.... last time was picture day and the kids get a bit thrown off on the weird schedules. I can meet you in the same room (Child Find Screening Room) if you want to get there before me. As I mentioned, I come from a school on the north side of town, so I get there just before the time if traffic goes well. What do you think? Would that work well?
I'm also going to try to send you some information on the students in the 3K class. I will explain more about why I want you to see them when I send the info.
